The Mainspring Funding Team
Rob Snow serves as the CEO of Mainspring Funding. Rob also serves as the CCO at Blue Bridge Financial. In his role at Blue Bridge, he reviews and monitors Blue Bridge’s credit decisioning and risk management process. Rob has traded over $2.3B in loan transactions just in the last five years.
Rob is a founding member of Carillon Capital LLC, a merchant bank and strategic advisor, and he serves in an advisory capacity on special projects. Prior to Carillon, Rob Snow founded Snow Portfolio Management, LLC in 2006. SPM served the financial services industry by using real-world experience to help clients buy and sell loan portfolios and businesses, value assets, develop new lending programs and design innovative marketing strategies.
Before Snow Portfolio Management was launched, Rob held executive level positions with BankBoston, Sovereign Bank and E*TRADE Financial where he was responsible for lending origination activities, portfolio management and securitization. While running the lending business at E*TRADE, Rob led the de novo launch of the home equity, auto and credit card business lines, acquired and managed one of the largest boat and RV lenders in the country and ran the retail and wholesale mortgage businesses.
Over the past 19 years, Rob has purchased and sold over $10 billion in whole loans and led the issuance of more than $4 billion in asset-backed securities.
Rob has been featured at the American Bankers Association, IMN Investors Conference on Equipment Finance, Lend Academy, and more.
He holds a B.A. from Middlebury College and an M.B.A. from Babson College. Rob serves on the Board of Trustees of Kimball Union Academy.
Kyle leads the capital market efforts at Mainspring. He also assists in overall portfolio management, packaging and communication with banking and investment partners at Blue Bridge Financial. With a wealth of experience as a Senior Capital Markets Pricing Analyst and Multifamily Product Manager for Fannie Mae, Kyle has a collection of knowledge in fixed income pricing, P&L analysis, balance sheet management and cash flow reporting. In addition, during his time at Fannie Mae, Kyle oversaw the financial forecasting process of a $2.8 trillion book of business.
Prior to working at Fannie Mae, Kyle served as Senior Financial Analyst at Stout Risius Ross, and Shields and Company, Inc., performing fairness opinions, business valuations, M&A advisory, and other consulting work at boutique financial services companies.
Steve Dervenis serves as the Executive Chairman of Mainspring Funding and overseas the management and strategic direction for the company. He also serves as a Co-Chair of the holding company, Buttonwood Capital, which is the parent company to Mainspring Funding.
Prior to founding Carillon Capital LLC, Steve spent nearly 20 years in leadership positions at a variety of Wall Street firms and cutting edge technology oriented financial companies. Early in his career, Steve held positions in mortgage and asset backed structuring and trading at such firms such as Lehman Brothers and JPMorgan and later held senior trading and investment banking positions at Barclays Capital.
In late 1997, Steve assumed the role of President and CEO of Telebanc Capital Markets, where he was responsible for the growth and management of the bank balance sheet at which time the bank was $600 million in assets. During his tenure, the company was purchased by E*TRADE FINANCIAL, where he immediately assumed the role as CEO of E*TRADE Global Asset Management, and he had direct responsibility for building some of the largest and most profitable businesses within the firm. He led the acquisition of a direct mortgage lender and the diversity of the balance sheet in alternative asset classes. By the time he left in 2003, he had grown the balance sheet to over $25 billion in assets under management and achieved record levels of earnings and profitability for the firm.
In 2004, he joined Stampede Holding’s, a private bank holding company. Stampede Holding’s was funded with $30 million in private equity investments to acquire a rare distressed Industrial Loan Chartered bank designed to grow via the acquisition of loans and syndications from other lenders and depository institutions and not direct lending. The Company grew from $40 million in assets to over $250 million by the end of 2007 and completed over 100 transactions in partnership with well over 100 firms.
Steve’s experience includes a variety of disciplines including: trading and structuring billions of dollars in residential mortgage and consumer related securities and whole loans, identifying emerging asset investment and securitization opportunities in Asia and Europe, overseeing a fixed income portfolio, executive management experience growing businesses, and acquiring and integrating new business lines, including a variety of new products and acquisitions of technology oriented financial and non-financial firms. Steve brings extensive experience working with early-stage companies from a business development and capital markets perspective.
He holds a B.S. degree from the University of Maryland at College Park.
Managing the Mainspring brand and communication messaging, Shaun is responsible for overseeing marketing and sales material, Press Relations, online content development and marketing outreach initiatives. Through his 13 years of experience in communication, design and marketing planning, Shaun provides a diverse array of skill in all areas of integrated marketing.
Prior experience includes a national portfolio of work as Marketing Design Lead at New Era Cap, a worldwide sport, fashion and apparel company. Working on high visibility initiatives for the MLB®, NFL®, CFL® and in-house brands, Shaun was part of multiple campaigns and go-to-market product releases. Before New Era, he was Art Director at Canisius College of Buffalo and Production Manager at Quinlan & Company Advertising, handling direct to consumer advertising.
Shaun holds an Associate of Science Degree in Graphic Design from Villa Maria College, a Bachelor of Fine Art in Communication Design from SUNY at Buffalo, and a Master of Arts in Communication & Leadership with a specialty in Integrated Marketing from Canisius College. He also has a certification in Project Management from Cornell University.
